I’ve known the good and lived the bad, I learned a lot of things despite what I didn’t have. I’ve worked these days on knees that bleed, I got it all from you and helped to plant the seeds. I keep on going and walk my path, I know that this can never last. I’ll see the light, I will be free. I got it all from you and turned it into dreams.

A simple state of mind, a mediocre time, a chance to get away relaxing for the day, the poor man’s holiday. Just let the moment last and when it comes to pass it’s never far away, relaxing for the day, the poor man’s holiday.

Feeling the wheels on the car spin around, this whole thing is going up and down. To learn a lover is just a friend, I’m on my own again. Watching the feelings of love slip away keeps me up all night and through the day. I run for cover to take me in, I’m on the road again. Moving through cities that used to be towns, the weight in my heart don’t seem to make a sound. I turned a lover into a friend, I’m on the road again.

My Hometown 03:08
I remember walking with Mary as she held my hand, walking on the paths made by natives who had toured the land, but who couldn’t say that it would all be removed by machines in a single day. I can barely recognize the streets of my hometown, lost in a maze of leggo houses that surround my youth that is gone away, replaced by the prefab houses that command the day. Now, here I am with a daughter of my own, walking through the forest on the edge of everything she knows. I couldn’t say that it would all be replaced by some houses that all look the same.

There she set sail down the road with no determined place to go, to race with the sunshine and flow with the years, at one with the karma of her hands shifting gears. Into uncharted destinations that lie ahead, feeling foreign motivation in her head, seeing things for the first time and probably the last, remembered for a life time and behind and in the past. With no hesitation, she follows her own road, and maybe he’ll be waiting when that road starts heading home. He remembers her and his life can’t turn the page, alone and steely eyed at his home on the range. Stuck with a memory and a heart that never changed, he still waits for her at his home on the range.

We're still together all this time, we don't remember valentines. Oh. my darling, my best friend, I still remember the moments when we roamed the roads on scenic tours, we had it all and had some more. Oh, my darling, what would I do if you slipped through?

1945 04:12
I can’t tuck that memory away and I’ve tried everything they say. I can’t leave those other days behind, but you’ve been there for me since that time. We did a little jig and danced for a while, no doubt about I loved to see you smile. So damn tired of fighting all day, we waited all that time to hear them say, “Today, the war is over!” The year was 1945, we had our dreams back in our lives and, despite our liberty, were victims of the victory. We did a little jig and joined the parade, we couldn’t get enough time to celebrate. The cheers and the tears went on for miles. No doubt about it, I loved your smile when they said the war was over. The day the war was over, no longer did we have to pretend that the war was gonna have an end, and I could hold you in my arms again. We did a little jig and took in the sights, exhaustion mixed with pure relief and spirits high. I couldn’t believe it when they gave the news, and all my thoughts came back to you the day the war was over. All the days and nights I dreamt of when the war was gonna finally end and I could hold you in my arms again.

That Sound 02:55
It was six on the hour that evening, the wind picked up, the rain came pouring down. Since the morning, wind was blowing and we went knowing beneath the ground, safe and sound. And as it approached, I remembered the last time that it came around. It rumbled, things being pummeled, destruction and trouble shook the ground, and made that sound. Above us we heard the commotion, the wind was fast, debris came pouring down. And, knowing it was approaching got lost in the moment of shaking ground, and that sound.

When I lost my sight, you became the wind for my kite. And, you gave me a farm of pure hearted gold, put hay in my barn - a place where I could refrain from questions ‘bout love and live through my days with you. My heart obeys your echoes of love that take me away. Now, here you are with hay for my barn.
